What’s better than good food, good music and good banter with mates over a couple of beers? Raising money for a good cause.
So if you combine all of those elements together you’ve got a winner of a combo, right? Right!
We hosted our second-ever Beats & Eats event at LKI HQ on Friday and we were absolutely blown away by the response.
More than 400 people turned up to not only listen to some banger tunes while eating good food, but to support Cystic Fibrosis Queensland. On that front alone it was a hugely successful night, with more than $6,000 raised for the organisation that remains close to LKI’s heart.
The money raised will go towards gym equipment that those living with CF can use at the young children's ward at Mater Hospital in Brisbane.
“The vibe was epic – everyone was in such a good mood all evening and it flew by so fast,” describes LKI founder Jason Daniel. “It was a hugely successful night and to see it grow so much from our first Beats & Eats last year was really exciting for us.”
Money for CF Queensland was raised through a variety of ways on the night – there was a live auction, live-screenprinting of AS Colour tees, where $21 of the $25 purchase price went to the cause, and product sales from the LKI warehouse.
By the numbers, Omen Printing and AS Colour raised $1,515, Burleigh Brewing $1,200, gate takings raised $927, the DK Bikes auction $700, CFQ $585, LKI $528, Cafe Nero $304, Baracca $150, and Buffalo Wings $150.
“It was really cool to see such an open community of people from different industries coming together for the evening,” says Jason. “It was a perfect night for people of all ages, and we’re already excited about the next Beats & Eats in July.”
As well as everyone who rolled up, we want to say a big thanks to our sponsors and supporters who helped make the evening epic.
