Summer Day Out | Supporting cystic fibrosis
Posted on December 15 2017
With the days heating up, there's nothing better than hitting the water and giving a little something back to the community. So today we rolled out our second annual day where we gave a bunch of kids living with cystic fibrosis something they'll remember for ages.
LKI invited the families to our wakeboard athlete Cobe France’s Gold Coast house where they had the opportunity to spend some time with Cobe and skater Simon Prakash.
As well as private skate demos and witnessing Cobe shred his home spot, the kids had the chance to jump in the water and have a go at waterskiing, or simply getting hauled around on a biscuit behind the LKI boat.
“We had such a great time last year we simply couldn't wait to do it again, just to see the smiles that it put on all the kids' faces, as well as our own," says LKI founder Jason Daniel. "It was a really special day and everyone had such a blast."
Cystic Fibrosis is something close to the heart of LKI, with the Daniel family’s cousin – and long-time LKI staff member – Blake, living with the condition.
The day was covered by the Channel 9 team (video below), and has quickly become one of our favourite events in the calendar.
LKI supports Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and Cystic Fibrosis Australia with its bounce balls that you can buy right here. All proceeds go to the two organisations.
