Tommy Newell

Tommy Newell is an athlete and endurance coach from the Gold Coast, Australia. His journey started with bodybuilding in his early 20s but has now transitioned into an endurance focused lifestyle. He specialises in fitness training, both coaching and competing in marathons, triathlons and Ironman.
After years of competing as a body builder, he realised it wasn’t healthy for him physically or mentally anymore, and so he put an end to that era, opening the door to his love for running.
When Tommy first got into gym, he didn’t do any cardio, with little focus on running at all. As he got older, he began running with a few friends. Now he says, “I can’t imagine a day that goes by without getting my running in.”
For Tommy, running isn’t all about speed or distance and competing like bodybuilding. He compares his love for running with mediation, sitting down, or listening to a podcast.
“It’s the way I clear my thoughts to make sure I’m ready to attack the day.” - Tommy Newell
Tommy now shares his passion for running and endurance with others, having worked as a high-level endurance coach for years, guiding athletes to push their PBs. Backed by personal performances including a 4:34:34 Half Ironman, 1:17:03 half marathon and 2:46:45 marathon, he brings deep technical knowledge and real competitive experience to every athlete he coaches.
Alongside his personal training, Tommy delivers a results focused coaching experience built for those who want to train smarter, race faster, and unlock their full potential, inspiring others to be 1% better everyday.
